eggNOG 5.0 now available
What's new in version 4.5.1 (Nov 2016)
- Added new tool eggNOG-mapper for fast functional annotations of sequence collections
- Minor improvements in phylogenetic tree visualization (e.g. Show original sequence names)
What's new in version 4.5 (May 2015)
- OG building updated: Clusters of Orthologous Groups are now hierarchically consistent across taxonomic levels.
- Sequence search is now based on a faster HMMER implementation.
- A new data channel labeled fine-grained orthologs provides pairwise orthology predictions based on the analysis of phylogenetic trees.
- Added Gene ontology terms and KEGG pathways. Relative frequency of GOs and pathways are reported per group.
- HMM models are available for all Orthologous Group.
- Taxonomic level adjustment is performed transparently when target taxa is added to the query, thus ensuring more accurate results.
- NOG names are now unique, thus avoiding collisions among versions
- Programmatic queries are now possible using the eggnog RESTful web API
- A number of new features have been added to the web interface: Fast ID searching, inline visualization of trees, alignments and taxonomic profiles. Gene Ontology and protein domain frequencies. Orthology predictions grouped by species and automatically adjusted to queries, and more!
